Valerio Stivè was born in Florence in 1981 and currently lives in Bologna, Italy. He does a lot of things with comics, but he swore he’ll never write one, and he’s no good at drawing. He’s been writing about comics for over 15 years, while also collaborating with the main Italian comics festivals. He is part of the editorial staff of the website Fumettologica, Italy’s main source for comics information and criticism, and has collaborated with Linus magazine. He translates comics, and for over more than 10 years he has worked for several Italian publishers on books by artists
such as Will Eisner, Frank Santoro, Michael DeForge, Jesse Jacobs, Cullen Bunn, Jason Lutes, Aleš Kot, Charles Forsman, James Sturm, Anders Nilsen, Johnny Ryan, Aminder Dhaliwal, and Richard Short. Valerio also curates graphic novels by young Italian artists for the publisher Edizioni BD. Writing in third person can be painful. So this is it.
