Lichtenstein and the Comics in Chicago

In anticipation of Lichtenstein: A Retrospective, on April 12th The Art Institute of Chicago convened an eclectic panel to discuss comics: Neal Adams, Ivan Brunetti, Geof Darrow, and J.J. Sedelmaier, moderated by Richard Holland, co-founder of Bad at Sports podcast. We're pleased to present a recording of the panel, with thanks to the museum. Be warned, there is some distortion in the file -- it's best listened to with headphones.

Does the discussion have anything to do with Lichtenstein? Or was his show just an excuse to talk comics?

I keep checking back to see if this is up, and went to the Art Institute of Chicago link to see if maybe they had an audio. Looks to be comics talk, not related to Lichtenstein. Looks to be an interesting mix of personalities though. Love Brunetti, Adams is a fascinating guy, even if you don’t agree with what he’s saying. Not sure who the other two guys are.

Oh man, you don’t know Darrow? He is the best. I interviewed him last year. it was an amazing conversation.

Two years ago my wife took the kids and visited her mom and dad in Kansas. While they were gone it was my job to tile the whole house. I must have listened to 50 or more of your interviews while setting tile, but hadn’t checked back recently.
Lots of great stuff to catch up with. I did listen to Joe and Tim with you a few months ago which was great. Joe was like a force of nature during that talk.

  5. The audio seems to still have problems, only the first five minutes and a half (the presentation of the panelists) can be heard.
