It's a really remarkable body of work, linked together by a new approach to his paint handling and an ongoing preoccupation with the idea of water. I've watched this work develop over the past two years and I'm just blown away by seeing it all together. In other Gary news, he's written this fine appreciation of Ray Johnson for The Paris Review.
