CJ Standal is a former teacher (creating a graphic novels class and teaching it for 3 years was a highpoint in his career) and now writer/publisher. He has written a book--published 1/1/20--about these experiences, Outside the Panels: Comics, the Classroom, and the Creative Life. As a publisher, he has shepherded Rebirth of the Gangster (written by Standal and illustrated by Juan Romera) through 20 issues so far of its 24 issue run. He has also written B.A.E. Wulf for Markosia Press (illustrated by J.M. Ringuet). Standal dabbles in lettering too, having lettered Henshin Man, which can be found on Web Toons. He also writes articles about comics, about history, about teaching and about geek life for such outlets as Graphic Policy and hopefully The Comics Journal one day.
