Gabrielle Gamboa — Day 4

Gabrielle Gamboa is a cartoonist, visual artist, and arts educator based in Santa Rosa, California. Her current projects include a chapter-by-chapter comic-book adaptation of Nathanael West’s 1933 novel Miss Lonelyhearts, reviews in comics form of old black and white horror films, and an original graphic novel of a supernatural romance between filmmakers in post-WWII Los Angeles.

  5. Thank you for all of the complementary comments! I tried hard to make something that adequately visually reflected the inspiration I took from all of the cartoonists I met, ideas exchanged, and the rare relative freedom from cynicism I encountered during this experience. Not to sound like a hippy, but being surrounded by cartoonists in an optimistic environment is a rare gift.
